An opportunity has become available for a high-calibre Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join operations in Rustenburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient distribution of goods to various clients, in full compliance with company SOPs and South African road legislation.

Job Purpose

To prepare, operate, and manage ultra-heavy motor vehicles for the delivery of goods, ensuring safety, efficiency, legal compliance, and professional customer interaction at all times.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate
• Minimum Grade 10 literacy level (verbally and numerically literate)
• Valid Code EC driver’s licence with valid PrDP (DGP)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience driving an ultra-heavy vehicle
• Must be 25 years of age or older
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Knowledge and Competencies

• Defensive driving techniques
• Knowledge of vehicle components and their functions
• Emergency and defect reporting procedures
• Vehicle inspections and correct use of fire extinguishers
• Vehicle loading and load-securing techniques
• Maximising vehicle cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for trips and safely operate ultra-heavy duty vehicles
• Load, transport, and offload goods in line with operational requirements
• Ensure vehicles are not overloaded in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act
• Secure loads before departure and manage tarpaulins where applicable
• Handle all required documentation and perform related ancillary duties
• Operate or supervise offloading equipment as required
• Maintain housekeeping standards for vehicles, uniform, and PPE
• Carry out all reasonable instructions from the Supervisor
• Maintain a safe driving record and a clean criminal record
• Deal with customers in a professional, efficient, and respectful manner
