Job Overview
An excellent opportunity is available for a skilled and experienced Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver (Code 14) to join Country Bird Holding Supreme in Tigane. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using ultra-heavy vehicles, including superlink and interlink combinations.
This role is ideal for a professional driver with strong experience in long-distance and heavy-load transport, with a focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence
- Valid PrDP
- Minimum 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles
- Minimum 3 years’ experience operating Superlink, Interlink, or combination vehicles
- Must be medically fit
- Clean criminal record
- Own reliable transport to and from work
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Key Skills and Knowledge
The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong understanding of defensive driving techniques
- Knowledge of emergency and defect reporting procedures
- Experience in vehicle inspections and use of safety equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers)
- Knowledge of load securing, loading, and offloading techniques
- Ability to maximise vehicle efficiency and reduce operational costs
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing vehicles for trips and operating ultra-heavy vehicles safely
- Loading, transporting, and offloading goods efficiently
- Completing all required documentation accurately
- Following instructions from supervisors and supporting operational needs
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle, uniform, and PPE
- Adhering strictly to SOPs and safety procedures
Additional responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a safe driving record at all times
- Working shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required
- Complying with all company policies and legal requirements
Compliance and Assessments
Successful candidates will be required to complete:
- Medical evaluation
- USCS training modules
- Induction programme
- Practical driving assessment
- Criminal record verification
