Job Overview

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver (Code 14) to be based at the PPC Slurry contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of bulk materials while ensuring full compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and road traffic legislation.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet all the following criteria:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence
• Valid PrDP
• Minimum 3 years’ experience driving Ultra-Heavy Vehicles
• Minimum 3 years’ Bulk Tanker driving experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience driving Superlink / Interlink / Combination vehicles
• Sound knowledge of defensive driving techniques
• Understanding of emergency and defect reporting procedures
• Experience conducting vehicle inspections and operating a fire extinguisher
• Knowledge of vehicle loading and offloading techniques
• Ability to maximise vehicle cost-effectiveness and fuel efficiency
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Own reliable transport to and from work
• Clean criminal record
• Medically fit

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for trips and safely operate ultra-heavy duty vehicles
• Load, transport, and offload bulk materials in line with SOPs
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Handle all required documentation accurately and timeously
• Maintain high standards of vehicle housekeeping, PPE, and uniform
• Report defects, incidents, and emergencies immediately
• Comply with all company safety procedures, traffic laws, and operational standards
• Carry out reasonable instructions from supervisors and management
• Be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
