Job Overview

An opportunity has become available for a high-calibre Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join the Astral – Goldi contract in Standerton. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of ultra-heavy vehicles, ensuring compliance with company procedures, road traffic legislation, and safety standards at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for trips and operate ultra-heavy motor vehicles safely and efficiently
• Load, transport, and offload goods in line with operational and safety requirements
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects or breakdowns promptly
• Handle all trip, delivery, and compliance documentation accurately
• Ensure loads are correctly secured and vehicles are not overloaded in terms of the National Road Traffic Act
• Maintain housekeeping standards for vehicles, uniform, and PPE
• Adhere strictly to SOPs, safety procedures, and company policies
• Work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by operations
• Follow all reasonable instructions from the Supervisor

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence
• Valid PrDP
• Minimum 3 years’ experience driving an ultra-heavy vehicle
• Minimum 3 years’ experience driving Superlink / Interlink / Combination vehicles
• Defensive driving skills
• Knowledge of emergency and defect reporting procedures
• Vehicle inspection and fire extinguisher operation knowledge
• Strong understanding of vehicle loading and offloading techniques
• Own reliable transport to and from work
• Medically fit
• Clean criminal record

Training & Compliance

The successful candidate must be willing and able to successfully complete:

• USCS training modules
• Company induction processes
• Practical driving assessment
• Criminal record verification
