JOB SUMMARY

An opportunity has become available for a high-calibre Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to safely transport and distribute goods to various clients. The successful candidate must be experienced in operating ultra-heavy vehicles and committed to safety, compliance, and professional customer service.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 / Matric (Senior Certificate)
• Minimum Grade 10 literacy (verbal and numerical)
• Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence
• Valid PrDP (Dangerous Goods)
• Valid Passport
• Minimum 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy motor vehicles
• Must be 25 years or older
• Clean criminal record
• Safe driving record
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Defensive driving techniques
• Vehicle inspections and emergency procedures
• Reporting of defects and emergencies
• Knowledge of vehicle components and functions
• Fire extinguisher operation
• Vehicle loading and securing techniques
• Maximising vehicle efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Understanding of National Road Traffic Act regulations

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare vehicle before each trip and operate ultra-heavy duty vehicles
• Load, transport, and offload goods safely and efficiently
• Ensure loads are secured and not overloaded as per legal requirements
• Open and close tarpaulins where applicable
• Handle all required documentation from dispatch to delivery
• Operate or oversee offloading equipment and processes
• Maintain housekeeping standards for vehicle, PPE, and uniform
• Deal with customers professionally and efficiently
• Adhere strictly to SOPs, safety standards, and company policies
• Follow all reasonable instructions from the Supervisor

MANDATORY ASSESSMENTS & COMPLIANCE

Successful candidates must be willing to complete and pass:

• Medical evaluation
• USCS training modules
• Company induction processes
• Practical driving evaluation
• Criminal record verification
