An opportunity has become available for a high-calibre Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join a reputable logistics operation in East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient distribution of goods to various clients while upholding strict safety, operational, and customer service standards.

This role is suited to experienced Code EC drivers who understand that modern trucking in South Africa demands discipline, defensive driving, and full compliance with the National Road Traffic Act.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ultra-heavy vehicles for trips, including full pre-trip inspections
• Safely load, transport, and offload goods in line with SOPs
• Ensure loads are correctly secured and vehicles are not overloaded
• Open and close tarpaulins where applicable
• Handle and complete all delivery documentation accurately
• Operate offloading equipment or oversee offloading processes
• Maintain housekeeping standards for vehicle, uniform, and PPE
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, or emergencies immediately
• Deal with customers in a professional and courteous manner
• Adhere strictly to safety procedures and company SOPs
• Carry out reasonable instructions from supervisors
• Be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate
• Minimum Grade 10 literacy (verbal and numerical)
• Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence
• Valid PrDP (DGP)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles
• Must be 25 years or older
• Clean criminal record and safe driving record
• Willing and medically fit to work extended hours and shifts
