An opportunity has become available for a high-calibre Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join the Epol Berlin division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient distribution of goods to various clients while maintaining strict compliance with safety and operational standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate
• Minimum Grade 10 literacy (verbal and numerical literacy essential)
• Valid Code EC driver’s licence
• Valid PrDP (DGP)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles
• Must be 25 years or older
• Prepared to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Clean criminal record
• Safe driving track record

Knowledge & Competencies:

• Defensive driving techniques
• Understanding of vehicle components and functions
• Emergency and defect reporting procedures
• Pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ability to operate a fire extinguisher
• Vehicle loading and load securing techniques
• Knowledge of maximising vehicle efficiency and cost-effectiveness

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare vehicles for trips and operate ultra-heavy motor vehicles safely
• Load, transport and offload goods in line with company procedures
• Ensure vehicles are not overloaded in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act
• Secure loads properly before departure, including opening and closing tarpaulins where required
• Operate offloading equipment or supervise the offloading process
• Complete all required documentation accurately
• Maintain housekeeping standards of vehicle, uniform and PPE
• Adhere strictly to SOPs and safety procedures
• Provide professional and efficient service to customers
• Carry out any other reasonable instructions from the Supervisor
