An opportunity has become available for a high-calibre Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join operations in Worcester. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient distribution of goods to various clients while maintaining the highest standards of road safety, compliance, and professionalism.

Job Purpose

To prepare, operate, and manage ultra-heavy motor vehicles for the delivery of goods, ensuring compliance with legislation, company SOPs, and safety procedures, while delivering excellent customer service.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate
• Minimum Grade 10 literacy (verbally and numerically literate)
• Valid Code EC driver’s licence with valid PrDP (DGP)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience driving an ultra-heavy vehicle
• Must be 25 years of age or older
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Knowledge and Competencies

• Defensive driving techniques
• Understanding of vehicle components and their functions
• Emergency and defect reporting procedures
• Vehicle inspections and correct use of fire extinguishers
• Vehicle loading techniques and load securing
• Maximising vehicle cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for trips and operate ultra-heavy duty vehicles safely
• Load, transport, and offload goods in accordance with procedures
• Ensure vehicles are not overloaded in terms of the National Road Traffic Act
• Secure loads before departure and manage tarpaulins where applicable
• Handle all required documentation and perform ancillary duties
• Oversee or operate offloading equipment as required
• Maintain housekeeping standards for vehicles, uniform, and PPE
• Deal with customers in a professional and efficient manner
• Carry out all reasonable instructions from the Supervisor
• Maintain a safe driving record and clean criminal record

Compliance and Assessments

Successful candidates must be willing and able to complete:

• Medical evaluation
• USCS training modules
• Induction processes
• Practical driving evaluation
• Verification of a clean criminal record

This role is suited to an experienced ultra-heavy driver who understands that in South African logistics, compliance, discipline, and safety are non-negotiable—especially when operating at the top end of the vehicle class spectrum.
