Job Purpose

We are seeking reliable and customer-focused Truck Drivers to transport food products safely and efficiently to designated locations nationwide. The successful candidates will ensure on-time deliveries, comply with food safety and transport regulations, and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Delivery

  • Operate the truck safely and efficiently to deliver food products (including soup deliveries)
  • Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and transport regulations
  • Deliver products in good condition and within set timelines

Customer Service

  • Interact professionally and courteously with customers at delivery points
  • Provide basic product information when required
  • Address customer queries and concerns in a positive manner

Truck & Vehicle Maintenance

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Perform basic vehicle checks and report defects or faults promptly
  • Keep the vehicle clean, roadworthy, and presentable at all times

Inventory & Loading

  • Assist with loading and off-loading of food supplies and stock
  • Verify quantities and report any shortages or discrepancies
  • Maintain basic delivery and inventory records

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all road traffic laws and regulations
  • Follow health, safety, and food quality standards
  • Work safely in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime when required

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent
  • 1–3 years’ professional driving experience preferred
  • Experience in food delivery or food service will be an advantage

Licensing

  • Valid Code 10 or Code 14 Driver’s Licence
  • PDP will be an added advantage
  • Clean driving record

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent driving skills and route knowledge
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management and planning abilities
  • Basic numeracy skills (cash handling/invoicing if required)
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically fit and able to lift stock as required
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality

Additional Information

  • Drivers must be willing to work weekends and overtime
  • Placement will be based on operational requirements
  • Positions are available in multiple regions across South Africa
