Job Purpose

Midvaal Local Municipality is seeking a Truck Driver for the Water Section to support effective service delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving municipal trucks, transporting water and materials, assisting with loading and off-loading, and maintaining assigned vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Code EC (14) truck safely and responsibly
• Load and off-load water and materials to support water service operations
• Plan and execute daily tasks according to instructions and work orders from the Foreman/Supervisor
• Transport equipment and materials between sites efficiently
• Perform basic administrative duties, including record-keeping
• Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of the assigned vehicle and equipment
• Assist with other operational duties when not engaged in driving tasks
• Perform ad hoc duties as required by management to support service delivery

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 qualification (Grade 12 will be an added advantage)
• Valid Code EC (14) driver’s licence
• Valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP)
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant driving experience within a Local Government Authority
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Hard-working, disciplined, and adaptable
