Job Overview
Aspen Pharma Group invites applications for a Truck Driver position within the Warehouse Department at Aspen SA Operations in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of materials and finished pharmaceutical goods between production facilities and warehouses.
The role reports directly to the Controller and forms a critical part of Aspen’s internal supply chain and distribution operations. Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates in line with Aspen’s Transformation Agenda.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Deliveries
- Transport raw materials and finished goods between production areas and warehouses
- Drive heavy-duty vehicles in accordance with company procedures and road regulations
- Collect stock from warehouses according to approved schedules
- Deliver stock to designated locations as instructed
- Assist with loading, off-loading, receiving, and dispatch procedures
- Communicate route schedules and delivery updates with the supervisor
Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete standard vehicle checklists
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, or damages immediately
- Refuel vehicles as required, ensuring proper authorisation and sign-off
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness
Planning, Procedures & Safety
- Execute assigned transport duties under guidance and supervision
- Learn and comply with Aspen’s quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Work strictly within company policies, SOPs, and safety regulations
- Support quality checks and pharmaceutical compliance requirements
Reporting & Record Keeping
- Log distances travelled and loads transported
- Complete delivery documentation and internal transport records
- Maintain accurate records within company systems
Minimum Requirements
Education
Grade 12 / Matric
National Certificate (N3)
Experience
0–2 years’ experience in a similar driving or warehouse transport role
Licensing
Valid Driver’s Licence suitable for the vehicle operated
