The Agricultural Research Council – Small Grain (ARC-SG) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Truck Driver – Facilities, based in Bethlehem. This role supports critical agricultural research operations through the safe and efficient operation of vehicles and farming equipment.

Job Purpose

To provide operational and research support through the safe operation of trucks, tractors, and agricultural machinery, while complying with quality standards and SHE/OHS regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate trucks, tractors, combine harvesters, and sprayers
• Adhere to approved work plans and operational schedules
• Utilise equipment and materials responsibly and efficiently
• Provide research support, diagnostics, and related services
• Collect data under supervision and according to research protocols
• Provide verbal feedback on work progress and activities to supervisors
• Maintain quality standards in all assigned tasks
• Comply with SHE/OHS regulations and safety procedures at all times

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 plus at least 3 years’ relevant experience OR
• Grade 10 plus at least 8 years’ relevant experience OR
• A minimum of 20 years’ relevant experience in truck driving and/or tractor driving
• Proven experience as a truck driver, tractor driver, and combine harvester operator
• Valid South African driver’s licence
