Job Overview

An opportunity is available for an experienced Petroleum Tanker Driver to join operations in Alrode. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating ultra-heavy vehicles transporting petroleum products, ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations and hazardous goods handling standards.

This role is suited for a highly disciplined Code 14 driver with Dangerous Goods (DG) experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work in a high-risk, regulated environment.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 (minimum Grade 10 / NQF Level 2 considered)
  • Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence with PrDP (DG)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a petroleum tanker driver
  • Proven safe driving record
  • Clean criminal record
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing vehicles before trips to ensure roadworthiness
  • Operating ultra-heavy tanker vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Handling all documentation from dispatch to customer and back to the depot
  • Taking full responsibility for the vehicle’s condition when leaving the depot
  • Ensuring accurate delivery and accountability of petroleum products
  • Following all instructions from supervisors and adhering to company procedures
