Job Purpose

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Petroleum Tanker Driver to safely operate ultra-heavy motor vehicles with a gross vehicle mass or gross combination mass exceeding 25 000 kg. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of petroleum products in compliance with all safety, legal, and operational requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4
Alternatively, Grade 10 / NQF Level 2
Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence
Valid PrDP – “D” (required for Dangerous Goods vehicles)
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a petroleum tanker driver
Safe driving record
Clean criminal record

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare vehicle before each trip and ensure full roadworthiness
Operate ultra-heavy motor vehicles safely and responsibly
Conduct vehicle inspections before and after trips
Handle all delivery documentation from dispatch to customer and back to the depot
Take full responsibility for the vehicle’s condition when leaving the depot
Account for all petroleum products transported to customers
Comply with all safety regulations, company policies, and road traffic laws
Be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Carry out all reasonable instructions from the supervisor
