Job Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Petroleum Tanker Driver to operate ultra-heavy motor vehicles exceeding 25,000 kg GVM/GCM within the petroleum division. The role requires a disciplined, safety-focused professional with proven experience in fuel transportation and dangerous goods compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare tanker vehicles for daily trips in accordance with operational and safety requirements
• Safely operate ultra-heavy petroleum tanker vehicles
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects
• Take full responsibility for the roadworthiness of the vehicle before leaving the depot
• Transport and deliver petroleum products to customers safely and efficiently
• Handle all dispatch, delivery, and return documentation accurately
• Account for all fuel and goods transported to customers
• Adhere strictly to Dangerous Goods regulations, road traffic laws, and company SOPs
• Work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as operationally required
• Follow all reasonable instructions from the Supervisor

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4
• Grade 10 / NQF Level 2 (minimum literacy requirement)
• Valid Code EC driver’s licence
• Valid PrDP (D – Dangerous Goods) where applicable
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Petroleum Tanker Driver
• Proven safe driving record
• Clean criminal record

• Operation of ultra-heavy vehicles (25,000 kg and above)
• Dangerous Goods handling and compliance
• Vehicle inspection and defect reporting procedures
• Defensive driving techniques
• Fuel transport documentation and depot compliance
