Job Overview

PPC is looking for a skilled and experienced Mixer Driver to operate a concrete mixer truck for deliveries to construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation and accurate pouring of concrete, ensuring projects are completed on schedule.

This role is ideal for drivers with construction or ready-mix experience and strong vehicle handling skills.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 with relevant driver certification
• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence with PDP
• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating a concrete mixer truck
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic calculations
• Good understanding of road transport legislation
• Physically fit and medically fit
• Good eyesight, hearing, and communication ability

Technical Requirements

• Experience driving:
  • Manual (straight) trucks
  • Automatic and semi-automatic vehicles
  • Split gearbox systems
• Familiarity with trucks such as:
  • Mercedes-Benz
  • FAW
  • Fuso

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle & Equipment Checks

• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections of the truck and mixer
• Report any faults or defects to the supervisor immediately
• Ensure proper cleaning, greasing, and maintenance of the vehicle
• Monitor tyre condition and performance

Delivery & Operations

• Transport concrete safely to construction sites
• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes
• Operate the mixer drum to offload concrete correctly
• Ensure deliveries are completed according to schedule

Compliance & Safety

• Adhere to all road traffic regulations and company policies
• Maintain high safety standards during driving and offloading
• Continuously check for vehicle or load issues during trips
