Job Purpose
To safely and efficiently transport personnel, materials, and equipment to operational sites across the City of Tshwane, supporting uninterrupted electricity distribution and streetlight maintenance operations.
Appointment Requirements
- Minimum Grade 10 qualification
- At least six (6) months’ relevant driving experience
- Valid Code EC or C1 driver’s licence with a valid PrDP
- Physically fit and in good health, with excellent eyesight
- Willingness and ability to relieve in similar positions when required
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, standby, and extensive travel
- Must undergo a criminal record check and allow fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department (at own cost)
- Willingness to be deployed to any region in Tshwane as operationally required (by applying, candidates accept this condition)

Key Responsibilities
- Execute instructions received from the Supervisor accurately and timeously
- Transport personnel, tools, and equipment to operational sites to ensure continuous service delivery
- Deliver and collect materials to support on-site electricity distribution and streetlight maintenance
- Adhere strictly to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993) and all municipal safety procedures
- Participate in rotational duties across various operational teams to enhance multi-skilling
- Ensure optimal use of vehicles, fuel, and resources to promote cost-effectiveness and efficiency
- Maintain vehicle roadworthiness and report defects promptly
