Job Purpose

PepsiCo is seeking an experienced Long Haul Driver to transport products between production units and customer destinations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of ultra-heavy vehicles, ensuring on-time deliveries with zero driver-related defects.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport bulk and bagged products between PepsiCo units and assigned customers
• Ensure prompt deliveries with no driver-related product defects
• Monitor and maintain fuel consumption in line with agreed standards
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, including tyres, lights, trailer couplings, oil and water levels
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and overall condition
• Report vehicle defects and ensure zero preventable breakdowns
• Perform basic fault-finding and tyre changes when required
• Ensure constant availability via cellphone
• Maintain a clean driving record with zero speed or traffic-related fines
• Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and safe driving practices
• Conduct safety inspection stops as required
• Safeguard all issued equipment, including spare wheels

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence
• Valid PDP
• Minimum 5 years’ long-haul driving experience
• Advanced Driver Training certification (advantageous)
• Proven safe driving record
• Strong sense of responsibility and attention to vehicle care
