Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of flooring products between depots, warehouses, retail outlets, and customers. The role requires professional driving conduct, accurate delivery administration, and excellent customer service while maintaining high safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver flooring products safely and on time
- Ensure proper loading and securing of goods before transport
- Follow planned delivery routes efficiently
- Complete and maintain accurate delivery documentation including:
- PODs (Proof of Delivery)
- Delivery notes
- Customer sign-offs
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report defects immediately
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
- Adhere to the National Road Traffic Act
- Provide professional customer service during deliveries
- Assist with resolving delivery-related customer queries
- Work closely with Truck Assistants and depot teams
- Support warehouse and operational activities where required
- Adapt to route changes and operational demands
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Valid Code C Driver’s Licence with PDP
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Heavy Duty Driver
- Experience in logistics or flooring distribution will be advantageous
- Hyster / Forklift Licence advantageous
- Knowledge of South African road networks and infrastructure
