SAFAL Group is currently recruiting a Forklift Driver for their Safal Steel operations in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. This permanent opportunity is ideal for experienced forklift operators with warehouse, dispatch, and material handling experience.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely, handling materials within the warehouse and production environment, and supporting dispatch and stock control operations.

The role requires someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining strong safety and housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and safety checks
• Load and offload trucks and vehicles
• Move and store stock using forklifts, pallet trolleys, or manual handling methods
• Receive and dispatch raw and processed materials
• Issue materials from the warehouse/stores
• Assist with stock control and stock-taking processes
• Operate forklifts in confined and tight spaces
• Ensure all paperwork is completed and submitted correctly
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards (6S)
• Support warehouse and production departments where forklift services are required
• Address stock shortages with supervisors where necessary
• Comply with company policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Valid Forklift Licence
• 2–3 years’ forklift operating experience
• At least 1 year experience in packing and dispatch
