Job Overview

VKB Group is recruiting a Fleet Manager to provide strategic, operational, and commercial leadership within its Fleet Control division. This mid-to-senior level role is based at the Head Office in Reitz and plays a critical part in optimising fleet efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring full compliance across operations.

The successful candidate will oversee both strategic planning and day-to-day fleet administration, ensuring smooth operations while supporting business performance within the agricultural sector.

Key Responsibilities

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic direction and leadership to the fleet function
  • Negotiating vehicle purchases and supplier contracts to optimise costs
  • Managing fleet performance, utilisation, and total cost of ownership
  • Ensuring legal compliance, licensing, and effective risk management
  • Overseeing fleet administration and supporting operational teams
  • Reporting on fleet performance and recommending continuous improvements

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (minimum requirement)
  • Diploma or Degree in Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Proven experience in fleet management or a senior fleet-related role
  • 5–7 years’ experience in fleet control operations
  • 2–3 years’ supervisory or managerial experience
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable strategies
  • A proactive, solution-driven mindset
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
