MacDonald’s Transport & Warehousing is looking for a Junior Transport Controller to support our dedicated sub-contractor operations in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for someone with solid long-distance transport experience who is ready to grow into a senior control position.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 3–5 years’ experience in the long-distance transport industry
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Transport Management (advantageous)
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good interpersonal, planning, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and coordinate loads, ensuring correct vehicle allocation and scheduling
- Monitor vehicles continuously while in transit
- Maintain constant communication with drivers and sub-contractors
- Identify operational problems and resolve or escalate where necessary
- Update reports and documentation accurately on the system
- Communicate with clients regarding delays, breakdowns, or operational challenges
