Job Overview

Multiform Human Development (Pty) Ltd, an industry leader in industrial weighing equipment, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fleet Controller to join its operations team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day fleet and equipment operations, ensuring optimal vehicle availability, compliance, cost control, and minimal operational downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily fleet operations using vehicle tracking systems and camera footage
  • Manage fuel supply, consumption control, and fuel cost analysis
  • Compile and analyse fleet costings, including vehicle and maintenance expenses
  • Generate and maintain accurate fleet reports (fuel usage, vehicle costs, utilisation)
  • Maintain and optimise fleet tracking systems according to operational needs
  • Schedule and coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Manage fleet compliance with road regulations, licensing, and certifications
  • Ensure fleet and equipment are maintained in a roadworthy and operational condition
  • Monitor equipment usage and performance to identify improvement opportunities
  • Manage fleet and equipment inventory records
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and legal requirements
  • Maintain driver licensing, certification, and accreditation records
  • Assist with training and onboarding of employees on equipment use and maintenance
  • Manage on-route mechanical and tyre breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks to reduce lost production time

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualification in Logistics, Fleet Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in fleet control or a similar role
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and fleet management systems
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Knowledge of fleet compliance, maintenance, and cost control
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
  • Attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment will be an advantage
