Job Purpose

PERI Formwork Scaffolding is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Truck Driver: Forklift Driver & Checker to join its Mbombela branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of equipment, accurate stock checking, and efficient loading and off-loading operations.

Key Responsibilities

Load and off-load equipment using forklifts and other specialised loading equipment
Assist colleagues with loading and unloading of vehicles
Check and verify all load-related documentation for accuracy and completeness
Count, inspect, and confirm stock quantities during loading and off-loading (yard and site)
Obtain delivery receipts and signatures for all delivered goods
Inspect inventory to confirm quantities and condition
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, and vehicle damage
Inspect vehicles after off-loading to ensure no damage has occurred
Conduct daily checks on trucks and forklifts, including safety and emergency equipment
Complete daily forklift pre-checklists
Report all mechanical faults or defects on trucks and forklifts

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

Grade 12 (Matric) with Maths and English
Valid Code 14 driver’s licence
Valid PDP (Public Driving Permit)
Valid Forklift Licence

Skills & Competencies

Proven experience in driving, warehousing, and inventory control
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and teamwork skills
Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks safely
Ability to read maps and follow routes
Sound knowledge of South African traffic laws
