Job Overview

AVBOB is seeking four skilled and reliable Drivers to join its Repatriation Hub in Midrand. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe, dignified, and timeous transportation of human remains between AVBOB agencies across South Africa and to neighbouring countries.

This role requires professional conduct, attention to detail, and strict compliance with road and cross-border regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport human remains locally and across borders into neighbouring countries
• Ensure accurate and timeous collections and deliveries according to planned routes and schedules
• Complete trip sheets, vehicle logs, and mileage records accurately
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections, with specific attention to tyres, oil, and general roadworthiness
• Maintain vehicles in a clean, safe, and operational condition
• Arrange minor repairs and report defects immediately
• Apply efficient driving techniques to optimize fuel consumption
• Report accidents, incidents, and traffic offences without delay
• Take full responsibility for assigned vehicles and equipment
• Comply with road traffic laws, company policies, and cross-border regulations
• Maintain a professional image and deliver excellent client service at all times

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12

Licensing

• Valid driver’s licence
• Valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP)

Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ long-distance driving experience
• Experience within a funeral services environment will be advantageous
• Cross-border driving experience will be beneficial
