Job Overview

Premier is currently recruiting a reliable and experienced Driver Link to join its Despatch team in Potchefstroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of bakery products, ensuring deliveries are completed in full and on schedule.

This role is ideal for a Code 14 driver with FMCG distribution experience, especially within food or retail logistics.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence with PrDP (unendorsed)
• Minimum 5–10 years driving experience
• Experience driving:
  • Scania
  • Mercedes-Benz
  • MAN trucks

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Transport

• Transport bakery products between locations on time and in full
• Navigate routes across Gauteng and surrounding areas
• Ensure all deliveries meet customer and company standards

Vehicle Management

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report faults
• Complete inspection sheets and manage refuelling
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and overall condition

Loading & Offloading

• Load and offload food products, including pallets
• Ensure correct loading to prevent damages
• Verify delivery documentation against loads

Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure all Proof of Deliveries (PODs) are signed
• Comply with the Road Traffic Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Follow all company policies and procedures
