Driver Vacancy at the Border Management Authority

The Border Management Authority (BMA) is seeking a qualified and professional Driver to join its team in Centurion. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting staff, documents, and goods safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all applicable transport regulations and organisational policies.

The BMA is established as an armed service in terms of the Border Management Authority Act No. 2 of 2020 and plays a critical role in securing and managing South Africa’s borders.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Senior Certificate qualification.
  • Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence.
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required.
  • Willingness to work overtime when operational demands require.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate trip sheets, vehicle logs, fuel records, and mileage reports.
  • Transporting staff, official documents, and goods safely and on schedule.
  • Loading and unloading items when required.
  • Ensuring secure handling and transportation of official documents and materials.
  • Conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Reporting vehicle defects, incidents, and accidents promptly.
  • Preparing vehicle condition reports and maintaining required records.
  • Coordinating vehicle maintenance and repairs with the Facilities Management team.
  • Adhering to all road traffic regulations and organisational policies.
  • Assisting in maintaining a safe, secure, and hygienic working environment.
  • Reporting emergencies and operational issues to supervisors.
  • Participating in workplace training and development initiatives.
  • Supporting fraud prevention, risk management, governance, and compliance activities.
  • Providing professional customer service to guests, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Assisting persons with disabilities when required.
  • Maintaining professional communication and conduct at all times.
