A leading company in the transport and supply chain sector is currently recruiting a Driver Instructor based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. This permanent opportunity is ideal for experienced Code 14 Driver Trainers who are passionate about road safety, driver development, and fleet performance improvement.

Job Overview

The Driver Instructor will support transport operations by conducting driver assessments, onboarding, training, coaching, and mentoring drivers across the supply chain. The role focuses on improving driver behaviour, safety compliance, fuel efficiency, and overall fleet performance.

The successful candidate will work directly with drivers both on-site and on the road, providing practical training and assessment feedback to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver practical Code 14 driver training and coaching
• Conduct driver assessments during recruitment and onboarding
• Provide classroom and on-road training sessions
• Coach drivers on safe, compliant, and fuel-efficient driving techniques
• Support learnership drivers and develop driving discipline
• Identify poor driving habits affecting fuel consumption and vehicle performance
• Conduct corrective coaching interventions where required
• Complete detailed driver assessments and reports
• Provide recruitment and performance feedback to management
• Promote road safety and operational compliance across the fleet

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Valid Code 14 Driver’s Licence with PDP
• Assessor/Facilitator Certificate (preferred)

Experience Required

• Proven Code 14 Driver Trainer experience (essential)
• Excellent driving record
