Position: Driver Code 14 (Full-Time, Permanent — George, Western Cape)

Reporting To: Branch Manager

Purpose of the Role:
The Driver Code 14 is responsible for safely transporting materials between Voltex branches, customers, and suppliers. This position ensures that deliveries and collections are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with transport regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety before every journey. 
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance issues to the Branch Manager or Operations Manager immediately. 
• Plan routes and navigate efficiently to meet delivery schedules and reduce delays. 
• Load stock according to delivery logs and ensure goods match delivery notes. 
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate administrative records for all deliveries. 
• Obtain customer signatures on delivery documentation as proof of receipt. 
• Communicate professionally with customers to resolve complaints or delivery issues. 
• Keep the delivery vehicle clean and ensure it is maintained on schedule. 
• Adhere to all safety, security, and compliance standards, including road rules and transport regulations.

Requirements:
• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent. 
• Valid Code 14 driver’s licence (EC) — PDP/CD licence is essential. 
• Hazchem certificate is required. 
• Ability to handle dangerous goods safely and in compliance with regulations. 
• Familiarity with GPS navigation and fleet tracking devices (e.g., AVL). 
• Knowledge of warehouse processes and relevant safety standards/protective clothing. 
• Proven experience as a truck driver is desirable.
