Purpose of the Role:
The Driver Code 14 is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery and collection of materials to and from customers, suppliers, and internal locations. You will support Voltex’s logistics operations while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete the vehicle inspection sheet and ensure the truck is roadworthy before departure.
• Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance issues to the Branch Manager immediately.
• Ensure compliance with weight and height limits for routes, bridges, and tunnels, and with all transport regulations.
• Plan and navigate delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules.
• Load stock according to the log sheet and ensure that delivered goods match the delivery note.
• Submit accurate delivery paperwork and reports after each trip.
• Obtain customer signatures as proof of receipt of delivered goods.
• Communicate professionally with clients to resolve any delivery issues.
• Maintain cleanliness of the delivery vehicle at all times.
• Record and advise the operations manager when the vehicle requires servicing.
• Report any delivery-related problems to the Operations Manager.
• Ensure full compliance with all safety and security regulations throughout operations.

Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification is essential.
• A valid Code 14 driver’s licence is required.
• A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) / CD licence is required.
• Hazchem certificate is a must.
• Proven experience as a truck driver is preferred.
• Ability to handle dangerous goods safely and responsibly.
• Familiarity with GPS technology and vehicle tracking units.
• Knowledge of warehouse processes and relevant safety standards, including use of protective clothing.
• A valid passport is desirable but not essential.
