Ecowize is inviting applications for a Driver – Chemicals to join its Supply Chain team in Port Elizabeth. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that blends logistics, technical support, and service excellence. Beyond deliveries, you’ll install equipment, provide on-site assistance, and occasionally train clients on safe chemical use and effective cleaning practices.

Job Purpose

To ensure the safe, timely delivery of chemicals and technical equipment while providing on-site support, training, and professional customer service—helping clients operate efficiently, safely, and in line with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Logistics

• Collect and deliver chemical orders, equipment, and goods to customer sites, ensuring on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery
• Load and unload products safely, including heavy items
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and Proof of Delivery (POD)
• Perform basic stock checks and assist with route planning to optimise delivery efficiency
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working order

Technical Support & Equipment Installation

• Deliver, install, repair, and maintain technical equipment such as boilers, dosing, and foaming systems
• Provide on-site technical support on chemical applications and dilution verification
• Troubleshoot equipment and escalate complex issues where required
• Train customers on chemical handling, correct equipment use, and verification processes
• Assist customers with stock assessments and usage guidance

Customer Service & Relationship Management

• Represent Ecowize professionally at all client sites
• Build strong working relationships with farmers, site managers, and operational staff
• Address client queries promptly and provide constructive feedback to internal teams

Cost Control & Continuous Improvement

• Plan deliveries to minimise outsourced transport costs
• Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency and service delivery
• Contribute ideas to improve processes, training, and customer support

Vehicle, Safety & Compliance

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and security
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, hygiene, and biosecurity protocols
• Ensure safe handling, storage, and transport of chemicals
• Comply with SOPs, POPIA requirements, and company standards

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Code 10 driver’s licence (PrDP preferred)
• 2–3 years’ experience as a driver, courier, or in technical deliveries
• Basic understanding of supply chain and logistics processes
• Ability to handle heavy products
• Willingness to travel extensively

Advantageous

• Experience in hygiene, food production, dairy, or agriculture
• Exposure to HACCP, food safety, or quality systems
• Ability to train and communicate effectively with farm and factory staff
