Meridian Wine Distribution is looking for a dedicated and reliable Driver Assistant to join its distribution team based in Sandton, Gauteng. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in logistics, distribution, and customer service within the beverage industry.
The successful candidate will assist with loading, unloading, and delivering products while ensuring that customer orders are handled accurately and efficiently.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 11 qualification.
- A Code 10 or Code 14 Driver’s Licence will be advantageous.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading stock.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic.

Key Responsibilities
Delivery and Distribution Support
- Report for duty on time to ensure delivery schedules are met.
- Assist with daily handovers of deliveries from the warehouse to the delivery vehicle.
- Ensure stock is loaded accurately according to delivery schedules.
- Pack products securely to prevent damage during transportation.
- Assist with product deliveries and collections as instructed by the Distribution Supervisor or Manager.
- Ensure customer orders are delivered accurately and on time.
Documentation and Administration
- Ensure all delivery paperwork is completed and available before leaving the warehouse.
- Carry and utilise the company-issued tablet for delivery operations.
- Record collections, returns, and upliftments accurately.
- Collect and document damaged or defective stock as instructed.
Customer Service
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers.
- Promote positive customer experiences that encourage repeat business.
- Assist with resolving delivery-related queries where appropriate.
Vehicle Care and Safety
- Help maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle.
- Conduct basic visual inspections of the vehicle’s condition.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle-related concerns immediately to management.
- Follow all company safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Professional Conduct
- Wear the required company uniform at all times.
- Maintain a neat, professional, and presentable appearance.
- Represent the company positively during customer interactions.
