Job Overview

The Building Company is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Driver 3500kg to join its HHL Claremont team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of goods to customers while ensuring products arrive in excellent condition and all company procedures are followed.

This role requires a professional driver who takes pride in customer service, vehicle care, and maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver goods safely and efficiently to customers and business locations.
• Ensure vehicles are loaded and packed correctly to prevent damage during transit.
• Supervise and assist with loading and offloading activities.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report defects immediately.
• Maintain company vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition.
• Verify delivery quantities and ensure customers receive the correct products.
• Obtain customer signatures and authorisations on delivery notes.
• Collect Cash on Delivery (COD) payments where required and ensure accurate handling of funds.
• Minimise vehicle operating costs through responsible driving practices.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and represent the company professionally.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Uphold and promote The Building Company's values and culture.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Valid South African Code 10 (C1) Driver’s Licence and/or Code 8 (B) Driver’s Licence for vehicles under 3500kg.
• Minimum of 2 years' relevant driving and delivery experience.
• Good understanding of road safety regulations.
• Ability to handle delivery documentation accurately.
• Clean driving record will be advantageous.
