Purpose of the Role

The Delivery Driver (Code 14) is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of goods, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy, documentation is correct, and customers receive excellent service. The role plays a key part in maintaining efficient distribution operations while upholding safety, compliance, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned delivery trucks in line with road traffic laws
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness
• Deliver goods accurately and on schedule according to route plans
• Maintain detailed records of mileage, fuel usage, delivery notes, and incidents
• Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff, and management
• Report mechanical faults or maintenance requirements promptly
• Ensure correct handling, loading, and securing of goods
• Maintain a clean, organised, and presentable delivery vehicle
• Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and PPE requirements
• Attend training, meetings, coaching sessions, and operational briefings
• Contribute positively to team performance and operational targets

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
• Valid Code 14 (EC) or Code 10 driver’s licence
• Valid PrDP
• 3–5 years proven driving experience, preferably within FMCG retail or distribution
• Clean driving record
• Strong knowledge of road safety and delivery procedures
