Job Overview

Econo Foods, a fast-growing FMCG retail company specialising in frozen foods, is looking for an experienced Delivery Driver (Code 10) to join its Edenvale operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of goods while maintaining high safety standards and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate the assigned delivery truck and ensure roadworthiness through daily pre-trip inspections

Deliver goods accurately and on time according to delivery schedules

Maintain accurate records including mileage, fuel usage, delivery notes, and incident reports

Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff, and internal teams

Report vehicle defects, breakdowns, or maintenance requirements promptly

Comply with all road traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures

Maintain a clean, organised vehicle with all required documentation onboard

Use PPE correctly and promote a safe working environment

Attend training, meetings, and coaching sessions as required

Support team objectives and contribute to operational efficiency

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent

3–5 years’ proven driving experience, preferably within the FMCG or retail sector

Valid Code 10 or Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence

Valid PDP

Good knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations

Competencies & Skills

Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)

Professional, customer-focused, and well presented

Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Good time management, navigation, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

Basic computer literacy (Microsoft applications)
