Econo Foods, a fast-growing FMCG retailer specialising in frozen foods, is looking for a reliable and safety-focused Delivery Driver to join the team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will ensure accurate, on-time deliveries while maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance.
Purpose of the Role
To safely operate the assigned vehicle, conduct pre-trip inspections, deliver goods accurately and on schedule, maintain clear communication with stakeholders, and uphold safety and company standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive and operate the assigned truck in accordance with traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, delivery notes, and any incidents.
- Ensure deliveries are completed accurately and timeously.
- Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff, and management.
- Report vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly.
- Keep the vehicle clean, organised, and stocked with required documentation and equipment.
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures and use PPE where required.
- Participate in meetings, coaching sessions, and training initiatives.
- Support team goals and contribute positively to the work environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- 3–5 years’ driving experience (FMCG retail experience advantageous).
- Valid Code 10 or Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).

- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
