Job Purpose

Dis-Chem is seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Courier Driver to join their Midrand distribution centre. The role involves delivering packages and documents safely and on time, while representing Dis-Chem professionally and ensuring adherence to company procedures and road traffic laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver products to stores, customers, or assigned destinations safely and punctually
• Use efficient routes and return to the warehouse after deliveries
• Ensure correct goods are loaded and signed off on delivery
• Adhere to warehouse policies on loading and offloading procedures
• Assist with unpacking where required
• Ensure all Proof of Delivery (POD) forms are completed and submitted daily
• Communicate with the call centre or dispatch regarding delivery issues or address changes
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report defects
• Manage fuel cards responsibly and adhere to vehicle and road traffic laws
• Maintain a professional and presentable appearance as a company representative
• Follow Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures and health and safety rules

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence (required)
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant door-to-door driving experience
• Reliable transport and/or reside near Midrand
• South African citizenship, clean credit and criminal record

Advantageous

• PDP licence
• Bilingual communication skills (helpful for customer interaction)

• Time management and record-keeping
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather
• Presentable, trustworthy, and honest
