💡 Industry Insight
Refrigeration driving is a different level in trucking — not every Code 14 driver qualifies.
Cold chain logistics in South Africa is strict because:
- Any temperature failure = product loss
- Companies like Country Bird Holdings deal with perishable goods, so timing and discipline are everything
Drivers with reefer experience are usually more valuable in the market and can transition into:
- FMCG distribution
- Cross-border refrigerated transport
- Higher-paying long-distance contracts
