Code 14 Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver

Moosas Group is looking for experienced and responsible Code 14 Drivers to join its expanding transport team. In this role you’ll be part of a logistics operation moving heavy goods and specialised cargo safely and efficiently across Southern Africa.
Job Purpose
To operate heavy-duty vehicles, including trucks with trailers and specialised equipment, to deliver goods professionally, comply with road and safety regulations and provide excellent service to clients.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Code EC driver’s licence with a current Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles
- Experience driving Superlink / Interlink / combination vehicles (advantageous)
- Medically fit with a valid medical certificate
- Clean criminal record
- Own reliable transport or arrangements to get to and from work
Core Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation & Safety
- Safely operate Code 14 vehicles in accordance with the Road Traffic Act
- Use defensive and preventive driving techniques
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report defects promptly
Loading & Offloading
- Load and secure goods to prevent damage in transit
- Assist or supervise unloading at destinations
- Ensure vehicles are not overloaded and comply with legal weight limits
Documentation & Administration
- Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery notes and fuel records
- Complete incident reports for accidents, damages or delays
Customer Service
- Represent Moosas Group professionally at all times
- Meet customer delivery requirements and schedules
Safety & Compliance
- Follow company safety policies and Occupational Health & Safety standards
- Handle emergencies and vehicle malfunctions responsibly
Route Planning & Navigation
- Plan efficient routes to reduce fuel consumption and delivery time
- Use navigation tools (GPS/maps) where required
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good time management and problem-solving ability
- High level of responsibility and client focus
- Competence with both manual and automatic transmissions
