Hestony Transport Expands Driver Training Programme to Gauteng

Hestony Transport has announced the expansion of its professional driver training programme to its Benoni North depot in Gauteng.

Previously conducted exclusively at the company's Bloemfontein facility, the training programme will now be available at the Benoni North site, creating additional opportunities for qualified Code 14 drivers seeking employment and career development within the transport industry.

The first complete screening, testing, and training cycle will take place from 08 June 2026 to 12 June 2026.

Walk-In Recruitment and Driver Testing

The Hestony Transport Recruitment Department will accept walk-in applications and conduct driver testing on:

Successful applicants will proceed to the testing and assessment process.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Valid Code 14 (EC) Driver’s Licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Original South African ID document.
• Original Driver’s Licence.
• Minimum of 2 years' relevant truck driving experience.
• Experience operating:
• Horse and Trailer combinations (Tri-Axles)
• Superlink combinations
• Contactable references with company landline numbers only.
• Between 25 and 65 years of age.
• Ability to attend the full training programme.

Preferred Experience

Preference may be given to candidates with:

• Refrigerated transport experience.
• Tanker driving experience.
• Long-distance transport experience.
• Proven commercial transport industry experience.

Training and Selection Process

Candidates will undergo:

• Application screening.
• Driver assessments and testing.
• Verification of qualifications and experience.
• Reference checks.
• Selection against company recruitment criteria.
• Only candidates who meet all minimum requirements and successfully complete the assessment process will be shortlisted for training and employment opportunities.
