Unitrans is seeking a skilled Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join its operations in Vereeniging. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting and delivering goods to various clients while ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures, company standards, and road traffic regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum Grade 10 literacy level (verbal and numerical)
• Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence with PrDP (DGP)
• At least 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles
• 25 years or older
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Knowledge of defensive driving techniques
• Understanding of vehicle components and safety systems
• Knowledge of emergency and defect reporting procedures
• Experience in vehicle inspections and fire extinguisher operation
• Knowledge of vehicle loading techniques
• Experience operating dry bulk tankers (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for trips and operate ultra-heavy motor vehicles safely
• Load, transport, and offload goods at designated delivery points
• Ensure all delivery documentation is correctly completed and handled
• Follow all reasonable instructions from the Supervisor
• Maintain a safe driving record and comply with road traffic regulations
• Ensure vehicles are not overloaded according to the National Road Traffic Act
• Secure loads properly before departure
• Operate offloading equipment or supervise the offloading process
• Open and close tarpaulins where required
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, uniform, and PPE
• Provide professional and efficient service when dealing with customers
• Follow company SOPs and safety procedures at all times

• Medical evaluation
• USCS training modules
• Company induction processes
• Practical driving evaluation
• Criminal record verification
