RCL Foods is currently recruiting for permanent Code 10 Drivers to join its baking division in Kokstad, KwaZulu-Natal. The company is looking for energetic, customer-focused and reliable drivers who can manage bread and confectionery deliveries while also supporting sales growth on their routes.

As a Driver Salesman, you will be responsible for delivering products to retail stores and traders, collecting cash payments, securing new customers, and maintaining excellent customer relationships. The role reports directly to the Distribution Manager.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Grade 12
• Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence
• Valid PDP

Experience

• Minimum 2 years FMCG driving experience
• Experience delivering and selling FMCG products
• Experience working with cash sales and customer service

Skills

• Good English communication skills
• Strong numerical ability
• Customer service orientation
• Ability to work under pressure

Key Responsibilities

Delivery and Vehicle Operations

• Deliver bread and confectionery products safely and efficiently
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections
• Report vehicle faults and damages immediately
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and company procedures

Sales and Customer Service

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Identify opportunities to increase route sales
• Acquire new customers
• Implement company promotions
• Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately

Stock Control and Loading

• Verify stock loaded against delivery documentation
• Monitor crate returns and minimise losses
• Ensure safe loading practices
• Assist with loading when required

Cash Handling and Administration

• Safeguard company cash and documentation
• Complete invoices, delivery notes and route paperwork accurately
• Conduct daily cash-ups with supervisors
• Ensure all stock sold balances with cash received

Team Supervision

• Supervise and support van assistants
• Assist with training and coaching
• Ensure assistants comply with company standards

Additional Requirements

• Willing to work weekends, public holidays and overtime
• Must be available for standby duties when required
• Must comply with Occupational Health and Safety standards
