Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, a wholly owned subsidiary of Assore Limited, invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Driver (B3) within the Protection Services Division. The mine is a world-class producer of chrome ore, located approximately 60 km from Lydenburg and 40 km from Burgersfort in Limpopo.
The successful candidate will report to the Protection Services Superintendent or a delegated nominee.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Standard 10 certificate
- Valid Code 10 (C1) driver’s licence
- Valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP)
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year practical driving and/or delivery experience
- Forklift driving experience of at least 3 months will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport people and goods in compliance with all safety regulations
- Conduct pre-use vehicle inspections using the prescribed checklist, including checks on oil, water, fuel levels, brakes, tyres, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Report vehicle defects or incidents immediately to the supervisor and ensure fluid levels meet manufacturer standards
- Ensure vehicle licences, driver’s licence and PDP are valid and carried at all times
- Operate vehicles according to approved procedures to maximise vehicle lifespan
- Clean vehicles after use and report all accidents or defects, whether minor or major
- Collect, load, secure and off-load goods in line with authorised requests and product specifications
- Ensure all delivery and collection documentation is correctly completed and signed
- Transport employees safely and ensure passengers comply with road safety regulations
- Perform ad-hoc duties within the scope of the role when required
