Job Overview

Enaex Africa, a leading global blasting services provider operating across Africa’s key mining regions, is seeking a qualified and safety-driven Extra Heavy Duty Driver to support its explosives delivery operations from the Rustenburg Plant.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in the safe, compliant and timeous transportation of explosives to mining customers, ensuring strict adherence to legislative, safety and company-specific requirements. This role requires a disciplined professional with proven experience in hazardous materials transport and emergency response procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute the safe delivery of explosives to customer sites within the allocated delivery time slots as scheduled by the Chief Inspector of Explosives
• Ensure full compliance with public traffic laws, CIE regulations and Enaex safety standards, including the enforced 80 km/h speed limit
• Perform the complete delivery process safely, ensuring explosives are transported, handled and delivered without incident
• Verify that all explosives seals are intact and correspond accurately with delivery documentation
• Complete and sign all delivery documentation, obtain customer signatures, and confirm correct quantities delivered
• Assist customers with the offloading of explosives in accordance with approved safety procedures
• Conduct and complete daily vehicle inspection checklists before departing from explosive magazines
• Ensure vehicle licence, explosives operator’s card and related documentation remain valid at all times
• Confirm that all fire extinguishers and safety equipment are compliant and serviceable
• Return all proof of delivery documentation to the Administration Office for invoicing purposes
• Report any incidents, irregularities or safety concerns immediately in line with company procedures

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) – Category “D”
• Minimum 2 years’ driving experience, preferably within an explosives, mining or hazardous materials supply chain environment
• Proven experience in explosives handling, Hazchem compliance and emergency response procedures
• Sound knowledge of explosives transport legislation and safety protocols
• Clear understanding of delivery documentation and compliance requirements
